FAQ

Can I use this 2-pack to power two different Ring cameras, like a Spotlight Cam Plus and a Stick Up Cam?

Yes! Each fits any Ring Battery-powered camera (Spotlight/Stick Up/Outdoor Cam) via included USB-C & Barrel adapters. Note: NOT for Wired, Plug-in, Doorbell, or Floodlight models.

Are both solar panels in the 2-pack durable enough for extreme wind and snow in open outdoor areas?

Yes! Both are IP68 waterproof and tested for 2400Pa wind/5400Pa snow load. This 2-pack ensures your front and back yard cameras stay powered through the harshest hurricanes or blizzards.

Is the 2-pack solar panel the best option for covering both my front door and driveway cameras?

Definitely. The 2-pack is ideal for dual-camera setups. It’s the perfect solution to keep your front and rear security zones powered, significantly reducing the frequency of manual battery recharges.

Does buying the 2-pack bundle offer a better price than buying two single solar panels separately?

Yes! The 2-pack bundle offers the best value per unit. It’s the most cost-effective way to provide continuous power for two cameras while saving money compared to buying individual units.

Are the cables long enough to install the two solar panels in different spots far from the cameras?

Yes! Each panel features its own 13ft (4m) fixed cable and 180° mount. This gives you the flexibility to place each panel in the best sunlight, even if your cameras are in the shade.

Matches the look of doorbell and provides power needed

It comes with premium packaging, and upon opening it almost looks like a tablet. Good length on provided wire and installation was just two simple screws. Has a usb c adapter for the power outlet which is great to have depending on your setup. Have it mounted higher to get more sunlight.

Compact panel that connects via USB-C or barrel connector

This is a compact solar panel that should hopefully save me from having to climb a ladder every few months. I have a Ring security camera placed up high on my house that needs to be recharged entirely too often. I live in an active neighborhood, and my camera triggers every time anyone walks too close to my door (draining this camera's battery far faster than my other security cameras). I picked up this solar panel in the hopes that it will at least make it so that I don’t have to recharge this camera quite as often. Setup was quick and easy. The camera comes with a mounting arm that screws into your wall via 2 included screws. I actually had to position my solar panel sideways to fit it properly under my eave. I was hoping to angle it upward (while having it positioned sideways), but the panel only moves up and down in its proper orientation (not side to side). Despite this, it appears to be getting adequate sun, and my camera reports that it’s receiving a charge. The camera’s attached cable has a barrel connector but it also includes a USB-C adapter extension in the box. The attached cord is enormous. I could easily have positioned the panel several feet away from my camera. I instead opted to have it just a few inches away, and I have the excess cord wrapped around the base of the solar panel. I may end up zip-tying the excess cable for a cleaner look later. So far the panel has survived one fairly intense rain storm without any issues. I believe I have it positioned well to avoid getting it covered in ice and snow this winter. It’s too soon to tell if this will allow me to forgo manually charging my camera completely, but I’m optimistic that this will at least make it so that I have to charge less often. I didn’t relish the idea of climbing a ladder this winter to charge my camera. If this buys me even a couple additional months between charges, then I will be pleased.

Fast charging!

Sorry for the late review as I had some problems with my security cam. Everything is now sorted and the solar panel works great! Definitely plug and play installation and compared to some other panels, this one is a bit thicker, and more robust! It has a nice protective border around the pv panel, and that is a good thing! You never really have to worry about breaking it if you drop it, because the border acts as a bumper to absorb impacts. This pv panel also charges faster than other panels I have used. The kit also comes with a USB-C adapter, should your camera require that instead of the pin style plug. The mount is a slide on style in the back that will give you 2 way motion, left/right or up/down, depending how you mount it. So, please take into account the position of the sun when installing it.

Easy to connect solar Ring cam charger

The solar charger for Ring cam is great quality. It’s easy to install with the bracket that connects to the panel. Comes with a dongle adapter to use if your cam has a USB-C port. Mine is the earlier pin port which is the default on the connected cable. After I let the panel charge up for several daylight hours I connected it to the cam and the app settings showed that the cam is now being charged by a solar device. Easy and saves time having to take the batter out and charge it when it runs low.

This solar panel charges my bird feeder

I have a bird feeder camera that came without a solar panel so I got this one. It worked great right out of the box with no problems. It was easy to assemble and came with mounting screws. It also came in a nice box that looks better for gifting than a plain brown cardboard box. My only issue is that the mount is a little narrow and only uses two screws so it’s not mounted as secure as it could be. This solar panel won’t eliminate the need to bring my feeder inside to charge up, but it will definitely extend how long the battery will last on a single full charge.

Works well!

Does what you expect it to do. Charges your outdoor cameras for less cost than the OEM panels. Please note, this is a 2.5 watt panel and charges very slow. This is expected! This is normal! I tried it in different cameras and it works fine. However, the gaskets may not be compatible with different unlisted cameras. It will NOT work on Wyze cam outdoor. The adaptor doesn’t fit.

So far so good

Ring camera and app recognize the solar panel and camera is charging to 100%. Battery was at 75% when I connected it to the panel. Very happy with this purchase at the moment.

Providing the power I need in a nice sized package

I got this to eventually replace an aging solar panel for a USB-C based security camera but at the present moment, I'm using it to recharge a USB-C based bluetooth speaker I have on a covered porch. Versatile! It's well constructed and in fact larger than the solar panel of the older security camera I have so this is a nice find at a decent listed price of about $20. (At the time of me writing this.)

Set it up and forget it

This is just what I needed. I got a bird feeder with a camera on it, and because it's motion activated it kept going dead. When I got the solar panel and set it up, I was able to just log in and watch the birds with no more camera issues. The mount is hollow, and sits nicely on top of a shepherd's hook, and it's easy to point it the direction that get the most sun. I love how convenient it is to just watch my bird camera and not charge it. Highly recommend for any camera that is away from a power source.

Staying charged now

Worked perfectly with my Ring brand outdoor cameras. The cameras have been staying fully charged since installing the solar panels. Install was simple.
I would suggest using different screws than what came with the panels. They stripped out very easily. I just used other stainless steel screws for outdoor use for my install.

Exceeded my expectations for "2.4W"

I did the math and was worried 2.4W wouldn't be enough for my Spotlight Cam's lights and sirens. Boy, was I wrong. As long as you have a few hours of clear sky, this thing pumps in plenty of juice. I think the key is the monocrystalline cells—they seem to perform way better than the older polycrystalline panels I’ve used in the past. It's been two weeks, and even after a series of late-night motion triggers, the battery is back to 100% by noon the next day. Great tech for a great price.

A must-have for Ring users

If you have battery-powered Ring cameras, just get this. It saves so much hassle. I get about 4 hours of direct sun on that side of the house and it's more than enough to keep the camera topped up even with high motion detection settings.

Works incredibly well for Ring Stick Up Camera!

Works much better than advertised! It says “2.4 W” of charging power… I presumed that was peak power in full sun. But let me tell you, a ring outdoor camera consumes 2-4 W when just monitoring idly. All day. It is only sunny for a few hours so I thought the solar panel might not be enough, however, it works way more than enough! Might be enough to power 2 or 3 if you could rig it to do so. When I first plugged in the panel, I checked the settings on the camera. It said the battery was at 97% and charging. Just 10 minutes later I checked it again and it was at 100%. It’s been at 100% ever since (I’ve had it two weeks) even in the morning before the sun comes out.

Great price too!

Only improvement would be to have the panel be able to swivel in each direction, not just up and down.

Survived a massive storm and kept charging

We just had a week of heavy wind and torrential rain here in Florida, and I was worried the panel might shift or leak. Nope! The IP68 rating is the real deal. The mounting bracket is very sturdy—once you tighten the wingnut, it doesn't budge. Even on the subsequent cloudy days, I could see in the app that the camera was still receiving a "trickle charge." It’s a very efficient monocrystalline design. If you live in an area with unpredictable weather, this is a very reliable choice for peace of mind.

No more ladder climbing in the winter!

100% I was tired of climbing the ladder every month to swap batteries. After installing this panel, my Stick Up Cam has stayed at a solid 100% for over a week now. Even on cloudy days, it seems to hold the charge well. The 13ft cable gave me plenty of room to find the sunniest spot on my roof line.
