FAQ

1. What components are required to set up an off-grid solar system?

To assemble an off-grid solar setup, you'll need solar panels, a charge controller to regulate the flow of electricity, and batteries for storing the energy. Additionally, proper cabling and connectors are required to safely link the panels, controller, and battery bank.

2. What is the difference between on-grid and off-grid solar systems?

On-grid systems are connected to the main electrical grid, while off-grid systems operate independently, storing power in batteries for use when needed. Off-grid systems are not affected by power outages in the main grid.

3. Why might my solar panel be generating less power than expected?

Reduced power output can result from environmental factors such as shade, cloudy conditions, high temperatures, or accumulated dirt and debris on the panel surface. Regular cleaning and optimal placement can help maintain performance.

4. How should I wire solar panels: series or parallel?

Connecting panels in series increases the total voltage while the current remains the same as one panel. Parallel wiring increases the total current while the voltage stays the same as one panel. You can combine series and parallel connections to meet your system’s voltage and power requirements.

5. How do I determine the number of solar panels needed?

Calculate your energy requirements first. Consider your daily power usage in watt-hours and factor in a safety margin. Once you know the required battery capacity, you can determine how many solar panels are needed to provide sufficient power for your system.

Best purchase for my camping

I have these bolted to the roof bars in my 99 suburban. They fit perfectly next to eachother. I got a combined 210w peak at times with them in series connected to my power station so very impressed with the efficiency. I think the airflow on the roof helps too.

A+

I have this Callsun 100W flexible solar panel mounted completely flat against a south-facing window, and even with partial blockage by a tree, it still gets plenty of juice! I’m honestly impressed by how much power it pulls in despite the shading and the vertical angle. It's incredibly lightweight and versatile. Highly recommend!

Great quality and durability

The ETFE surface feels much tougher than other flexible panels I've tried. It's held up perfectly through some windy days on my boat. Great value for the power output.

Cheap and effective!

I have two installed in parallel mounted on my van roof with magnets! They currently keep my 296wh Jackery and 250wh lithium phosphate battery charged every day! I’d buy more but limited by roof space!

Solid, steady power

I've been using this for a few weeks now. I regularly get 90-95 watts in decent sun. It's definitely one of the better flexible panels I've purchased.

So far so good

So far haven't used this long term just yet, but plugged it into our ecoflow delta 2 (with an adapter i got separately ) and it was pumping out between 90 and 98 watts for a sunny midwest afternoon. Im used to panels not producing their full rating, but getting thst close to the 100w market was impressive

Legit 100 watt performance

I was skeptical about flexible panels hitting their rated wattage but this one is the real deal. I saw a peak of 104W on my controller today in full Arizona sun. The ETFE surface feels much tougher than the cheaper ones I've seen online.

Does what it says on the box

No frills, just a solid and incredibly thin panel. It’s only about 0.1" thick, so it barely sits off the roof of my trailer—you can’t even see it from the ground. Arrived in a flat box with plenty of foam protection. It’s currently keeping my dual dual-sport motorcycle batteries topped off and ready to go for the weekend. The flexibility is impressive; it followed the slight curve of the trailer roof without any stress. I do wish the output leads were about a foot longer for my specific wiring layout, but that was an easy fix. Otherwise, no complaints at all.

Solar panels

Perfect just what we needed! The ultra-thin design and flexibility are game-changers—I barely noticed the extra weight, and they feel incredibly sturdy despite being so lightweight. Installation was straightforward, and they’ve held up perfectly through some really windy days.

Easy setup

Installation was straightforward. The panel is sturdy, and the connectors are standard. It integrated perfectly with my existing controller. No complaints.

Quality Product

After using this panel multiple times, I am impressed by its output. I regularly get 90 watts out of this 100 watt panel in Northern Arkansas.

5 out of 5 starsGet this one!

This solar panel works great! I mounted it on top of my cargo trailer, and hooked it up to a solar battery tender. It keeps my dual sport motorcycle fully charged and ready to go while stored in the trailer. I would definitely buy this again!

Flex panel for tight hanging space

Great quality. Does give output of 80-85W on full sun day and help charge my portable 300W generator in 4-5 hrs from 10% to 100%. Its thin and being flexible helps to hang it in various angle to get maximum output. I have it hanged in a small corner next to garage to make use of the space and charge the generator. So far happy with the panel. Worth investment.

Finally a flexible panel that hits its rated wattage

This panel is legit. I was skeptical about flexible panels because of all the bad reviews online, but this one is holding its own. It's putting out about 85-90 watts in the afternoon which keeps my fridge and fan running perfectly. The textured finish looks like it can handle some abuse. Shipping was fast and it was packed really well.

Simple and effective for boat deck

I mounted this on the cabin roof of my sailboat. Because it’s so thin (only about 0.1"), it follows the curve perfectly and doesn't catch any wind or snag my lines. In the Caribbean sun, my monitor shows a steady 5.5 amps going into the batteries, which is plenty for my lights and fridge. The ETFE surface feels very high-quality and has a nice grip to it, definitely doesn't feel like those cheap plastic panels. Shipping was fast and the IP68 box looks well-sealed against the salt spray.

Exceeded Expectations — Legit 100W Output from a Flexible Panel

Exceeded Expectations — Legit 100W Output from a Flexible Panel

I was honestly skeptical that a flexible solar panel could deliver a full 100 watts, but this one proved me wrong. In full sun, I consistently measured up to 108W output, which is impressive for something this lightweight and portable.

One caution: avoid putting direct pressure on a small area of the panel — the cells are fragile. I accidentally cracked a chip by leaning on it during setup. That said, the panel still puts out around 105W, so it’s still working great despite the damage.

| Pros:

True 100W+ performance in ideal conditions
Lightweight and flexible — easy to mount
Great value for the output
Cons:
Surface is delicate — handle with care

| Final Thoughts:
If you need portable solar for a van, camping setup, or off-grid project, this panel delivers solid power. Just treat it gently and you’ll be more than happy with the performance.

Great for portable charging

Callsun is my go-to for charging my portable power station during weekend trips. It’s very thin and slides right behind the seat of my truck when not in use.
