FAQ

1. What is a bifacial solar panel and how does it increase power output?

A bifacial solar panel captures sunlight from both the front and back. By collecting reflected light from surfaces like white RV roofs, sand, or decks, it can increase total energy output by up to 30%.

2. Will the panel still work if part of it is shaded?

Yes. With TwinCell parallel circuitry, the panel operates as two independent sections. If one half is shaded by a vent or branch, the other half continues producing power.

3. How does the TwinCell parallel circuitry help with anti-shading?

Traditional panels drop drastically in power if even a small corner is shaded. Our TwinCell design splits the panel into two independent upper and lower sections, ensuring that if one half is blocked by an RV vent or tree branch, the other half still operates at 100% capacity.

4. Is this rigid panel suitable for RV roofs, and how should it be mounted?

Yes, it is ideal for RV, boat, or off-grid roofs. The reinforced aluminum frame features pre-drilled holes on the back, making it fully compatible with standard Z-brackets, corner brackets, or tilt mounts for secure installation.

Handles mixed weather surprisingly well

Weather where I live changes constantly, so I needed something that could still produce decent power without perfect sunlight all day long. After using this panel for several weeks, I’m impressed with how stable the charging remains during partly cloudy conditions. I mounted it on a ground rack near my greenhouse powering fans and irrigation timers. Even when nearby trees cast moving shadows across the panel, the output doesn’t collapse the way my old panel used to. The construction quality also stands out. The frame feels solid and the panel survived strong winds recently without any issues.

Excellent addition to my RV system

Added this panel to my existing RV solar system before a long road trip and it blended perfectly with the rest of the setup. Charging performance during direct sunlight has been excellent, but where I noticed the biggest improvement was during mornings and evenings when sunlight angles are less ideal. The panel still manages to produce useful charging current during those times. I also tested the panel after several rainy days and there were no signs of moisture issues or loose connections. Feels durable and dependable so far. Customer support was also quick to answer a question I had about wiring configuration.

Good real-world performance

A lot of solar products advertise huge numbers but disappoint once installed outdoors. This panel has actually been delivering respectable real-world results. I’m using it on a detached garage with a small inverter setup and it’s consistently charging faster than my older 200W panel. One thing I immediately noticed was how much less dramatic the power loss is when part of the panel gets shaded. My previous setup would almost completely stop producing power under similar conditions. Build quality also seems excellent so far. Everything arrived in perfect condition and installation only took about an hour.

Worth upgrading to N-Type

This was my first experience using an N-Type bifacial panel and I can definitely see the difference compared to older technology. The panel produces stable voltage throughout the day and seems less affected by temperature than my previous setup. I mounted it on my RV and recently tested it during a trip through Arizona and New Mexico. Even with roof accessories casting occasional shadows, the charging remained consistent enough to keep my batteries healthy. The bifacial design also appears to help when parked over bright gravel surfaces. Overall I’m very satisfied with the performance and would buy more for future upgrades.

Reliable daily charging

Using this panel with a 12V lithium battery setup for my hunting cabin and it’s been working flawlessly so far. The cabin sits in a partially wooded area so sunlight changes throughout the day, but this panel handles those conditions much better than the one I replaced. Before, my batteries would struggle to stay topped off after several cloudy days. Since switching to this setup, charging performance has improved noticeably. Installation was simple using standard mounting brackets and MC4 connectors. I also appreciate that the panel doesn’t feel overly heavy considering the size and solid construction.

Quality exceeded expectations

I’ve worked with solar equipment for years and honestly didn’t expect much at this price point, but this panel turned out to be surprisingly well made. The aluminum frame is rigid, the glass feels durable, and the junction box looks professionally sealed. I installed it on top of a storage trailer that powers tools and lighting during weekend projects. Performance has been very consistent so far. Even during changing sunlight conditions caused by nearby trees, the panel continues producing steady output. I also noticed charging begins earlier in the morning than my previous panels. Overall it feels like a thoughtful design instead of a generic budget panel.

Great panel for off-grid camping

Took this panel on a week-long camping trip powering a portable fridge, lights, and charging station. Conditions were far from ideal because we camped near trees most of the time, but the panel still performed better than expected. During midday sun the charging speed was excellent, and even during partial shade the controller still showed useful power input. The panel also stayed cooler than my older mono panel during hot afternoons. That was something I noticed right away. Build quality feels premium and the frame handled transport in the truck bed without any problems. Definitely happy with the purchase.

Better shade tolerance than my old setup

One side of my property gets partial shade almost all afternoon, which made my previous solar panel frustrating to use. I decided to try this anti-shading design after reading about N-Type cells and bifacial technology. After about a month of use, I can definitely say it performs better under imperfect conditions. Obviously no panel likes heavy shade, but this one continues producing enough power to keep my battery bank charging instead of collapsing completely. I mounted it on a portable stand near my shed and have already gone through several storms without issues. Overall it feels like a very solid product.

Nice balance between size and output

Roof space on my camper is limited, so I wanted a panel that offered decent wattage without taking up the entire roof. This model ended up fitting perfectly beside my vent fan and storage rack. Installation was straightforward and the wiring connections felt secure right out of the box. After several camping trips, I’ve noticed the charging stays surprisingly stable even when tree shadows move across part of the panel throughout the day. My previous panel struggled badly in the same conditions. I’ve also been impressed by the overall build quality. Everything feels sturdy enough for long-term travel and rough roads.

Performs well even during cloudy mornings

I installed this panel on the roof of my small workshop about three weeks ago and have been monitoring the output daily through my charge controller app. What surprised me most was how early the panel starts producing usable power in the morning compared to my older setup. Even during cloudy conditions, it still generates enough current to keep my batteries charging steadily. The frame feels strong and the glass doesn’t feel thin or cheap. I also tested partial shading by covering one section temporarily and the drop in output wasn’t nearly as severe as expected. So far it’s been a reliable upgrade and I’m planning to expand the system soon.

Happy with the purchase so far

I normally avoid leaving reviews this long, but after several weeks of daily use I feel comfortable recommending this panel. I’m running it on a small off-grid workshop setup charging a 12V lithium battery bank. The panel has survived heavy rain, strong winds, and a surprising amount of dust already. Performance has stayed consistent throughout. I specifically bought this model because of the anti-shading feature since my property has scattered trees nearby. While shade still affects output of course, it’s nowhere near as severe as my older traditional panel. Overall this feels like a well-designed product at a fair price point.

Great for RV travel

Installed this on my fifth wheel before a two-week road trip through Colorado and Wyoming. Between campsites, mountain weather, and shaded parking spots, the panel got tested in all kinds of conditions. Overall performance was very consistent. The biggest difference compared to my previous panel was during mornings and late afternoons when sunlight wasn’t ideal. Charging still continued instead of dropping to almost nothing. Installation was easy and the panel paired perfectly with my Victron controller. So far I’ve had no issues with water intrusion, loose wiring, or hot spots. I’d absolutely buy another one if I expand my system later.

Solid panel for the money

There are a lot of questionable solar brands online now, so I spent quite a while reading reviews before ordering this. After using it for about a month, I’d say it’s one of the better budget-friendly panels I’ve purchased. I’m using it on a small fishing cabin with a lithium battery setup and it’s been reliable even during mixed weather. The panel feels rigid and durable, not flimsy like some lightweight models I’ve seen recently. I also appreciate the anti-shading design because trees around the property create moving shadows all day long. Charging performance remains steady enough that my batteries stay topped off without issue.

Real output is close to advertised

I’ve bought “100 watt” panels before that barely produced 70-80 watts under ideal conditions, so I was skeptical here too. Tested this Callsun panel around noon with clear skies and actually got numbers much closer to the rated output than expected. Obviously real-world conditions vary, but it performed better than most budget panels I’ve tried from Amazon. The anti-shading design also appears to help during partial coverage. I intentionally blocked one section of the panel during testing and the output drop wasn’t nearly as severe as my older panel. So far I’m impressed with both efficiency and overall construction quality.

Perfect size for van conversion

This ended up being exactly what I needed for my Transit van build. Roof space is limited because of my vent fan and storage box, so I wanted something compact but still efficient. Installed two of these panels and they’ve been keeping up with my fridge, lights, fan, and charging needs without problems. One thing I noticed immediately is that brief shadows from roof gear don’t destroy the charging performance the way my previous panels behaved. That alone made the upgrade worthwhile for me. We recently drove through Nevada and Utah in extreme heat and the panels kept performing consistently every day. Very happy with the purchase.

Randy C.
Better low-light performance than expected

I’m in Washington state where cloudy weather is basically normal for most of the year. I didn’t expect any solar panel to perform miracles here, but this one definitely outperforms my previous setup in lower-light conditions. During overcast afternoons I’m still seeing enough charging current to maintain my battery bank instead of slowly losing power. I also tested the panel after rainfall because I read bifacial panels can benefit from reflected light, and surprisingly the output numbers were slightly better than usual. Hard to say exactly how much comes from the rear side, but overall performance has been very solid. Glad I gave this brand a try.

E
Eric W.
Excellent packaging and clean construction

The first thing I noticed was how securely the panel was packed. I’ve had solar panels arrive cracked before from other brands, so that was a relief. Installation was straightforward and the pre-drilled mounting holes lined up perfectly with my brackets. I mounted it on top of my enclosed trailer for powering tools and batteries during weekend jobs. Even on cooler cloudy mornings the panel starts producing earlier than my old mono panel. I also appreciate that the panel doesn’t get excessively hot in direct summer sun. Everything from the junction box to the frame looks clean and professionally assembled. So far no complaints at all.

Good upgrade for my cabin system

I replaced two older 100W panels on my off-grid shed with these Callsun bifacial panels and noticed an improvement right away. Voltage is more stable and the batteries recover faster during the day. The anti-shading feature actually seems useful in real life because one side of my setup gets partial tree cover for a few hours every afternoon. Before, output would tank hard during that time. Now it drops less dramatically and still provides enough charging to keep my lights and inverter running. Build quality is also better than I expected for a budget-friendly panel. Feels durable and weather resistant.

Works well with my EcoFlow

Picked this up for emergency backup charging during outages and paired it with my EcoFlow Delta. Setup was simple using MC4 connectors and the panel started producing power almost immediately in direct sunlight. What surprised me most was how well it still worked during partly cloudy weather. I live in western Pennsylvania so we rarely get perfect sunny days, but the charging performance has been better than expected. I’ve also tested it in the backyard where part of the panel gets shaded by a fence during the afternoon. My old panel would almost stop charging completely, while this one still keeps decent input going. Overall feels like a quality product.

Pretty impressed after real testing

I bought this panel mainly because I wanted to compare it against a Renogy panel already mounted on my trailer. I wasn’t expecting a huge difference honestly, but after a few weekends of testing I noticed this Callsun panel handled inconsistent sunlight much better than my older setup. We camp under trees a lot and the charging current stayed more stable instead of dropping off immediately every time a shadow crossed the panel. The panel itself feels solid with a sturdy frame and thicker glass than I expected at this price point. Shipping was fast and there was zero damage when it arrived. Definitely exceeded my expectations for an solar panel.
