FAQ

1. What are the benefits of using bifacial solar panels?

Callsun Bifacial solar panels capture sunlight from both front and rear sides, allowing them to generate more energy than traditional monofacial panels. They can gain an additional 5%-30% power from reflected surfaces such as snow, sand, or rooftops. This design also ensures better performance in low-light conditions and provides flexibility in installation for various applications

2. What advantages does Anti-Shading Technology provide?

Callsun Anti-Shading panels use a Quad-Cell structure, dividing the panel into four independent units. When part of the panel is shaded by trees, leaves, or snow, the other units continue to generate power, reducing energy loss by up to 75%-80% compared to standard panels. This ensures stable and reliable electricity for off-grid or partially shaded installations.

3. How long are the cables on the split junction box, and do I need extensions?

The panel comes with pre-attached output cables. Depending on your specific layout and the distance to your charge controller, you may need to purchase standard solar extension cables.

4. What does the -0.3%/K temperature coefficient mean for winter operations?

It means the panel's voltage increases as temperatures drop below 25°C. In freezing winter conditions, the open-circuit voltage will rise higher than normal, so ensure your controller has enough voltage headroom.

Impressive Performance!!!

I bought 1 solar panel then ended up buying a second one days later.
They both arrived in excellent shape. They’re shipped in sturdy cardboard with styrofoam corners and foam encompassing all 4 sides and a full sheet of foam on the face of the panel itself.
These are the first solar panels I’ve ever purchased and my intent is to use them to charge my two Ecoflow Delta 2’s and my Ecoflow Delta 2 Max. I also have a Honda EU2200i inverter generator that I converted to propane that I can charge the Ecoflows with. The ability to charge them without gasoline or propane is just peace of mind for me, and very cool..!!
So here’s the good stuff. I plugged both panels into the Delta 2 wired in series and I was able to get 500 watts of input but not sustained. In the good sun of midday the input hovered around 440 to 470 watts consistently. It could have possibly been more than 500 watts at some point but the Ecoflows have a max input of 500 watts of solar and then it just clips it so I understand without any damage to the unit. As one of the pictures shows, with just one panel plugged in I got a max input of 255 watts.
I threw together a stand with some pvc pipe to lean one of them on because I only have the one bench. The panels are stored in my shop and will be taken out when needed so portable breakdown stands are perfect for me.
I’m so impressed with these solar panels and highly recommend them to anyone thinking about solar for themselves.

Actually useful in real camping conditions

A lot of solar panels look good in perfect lab conditions but struggle once you’re actually out camping under trees. That’s exactly why I bought this model. Took it on a 4-day trip through northern Michigan and it did a much better job than the rigid panel I replaced. Obviously shade still affects output, but it doesn’t completely kill charging like my old setup did. I was still able to keep my fridge and power station running comfortably. Build quality seems excellent too. The frame feels sturdy enough for long-term travel and rough roads. Overall feels like a higher-end panel without the crazy price.

Packaging alone impressed me

First thing I noticed was how well this thing was packed. I’ve had panels arrive cracked before from other brands, so I was nervous ordering another one online. No issues here at all. Thick corner protection, solid box, everything arrived clean. I mounted it temporarily next to my cabin battery bank just for testing and within an hour I was seeing higher numbers than my older 200W panel sitting right beside it. I’m no solar expert, but the panel definitely seems more efficient during inconsistent weather. We had passing clouds most of the afternoon and the charge controller stayed active the whole time instead of constantly dropping out.

Great panel for van life setup

Installed two of these on my Sprinter van conversion and they’ve been fantastic during recent road trips. I spend a lot of time parked near forests and campsites where tree shadows constantly move across the roof. My previous panels struggled badly in those conditions, but these Callsun panels continue producing enough energy to keep my fridge, lights, and batteries running comfortably. I also noticed the panels stay cooler than expected during hot afternoons. Between the N-Type cells, bifacial design, and anti-shading performance, this feels like a major upgrade over standard panels. Highly recommended for van life or RV users.

Works great with my power station

Bought this mainly for emergency backup charging with my EcoFlow power station and it has worked flawlessly so far. I wanted something portable enough to move around but still powerful enough to recharge batteries efficiently during outages. The panel unfolds and connects easily with MC4 adapters, and output in direct sunlight has been excellent. I also tested partial shading intentionally by covering sections of the panel and was surprised how much power it still produced. Definitely more advanced than the cheaper generic panels I’ve used before. Feels like a quality product overall.

Good value and very efficient

I ordered one panel initially just to test before committing to a larger system. After running it for several weeks, I’m planning to buy more. The efficiency is noticeably better than the older panels on my garage roof and the panel voltage stays stable throughout the day. I especially like the anti-shading design because one corner of my roof gets covered by a chimney shadow during the afternoon. With my previous panel, output would tank immediately. This one still produces enough power to keep my batteries charging consistently. Shipping was fast and packaging was excellent.

Real-world performance is impressive

I normally don’t leave reviews unless a product exceeds expectations. I tested this panel side-by-side with another 200W panel I already had installed on my RV roof. Under full sun the performance was close, but where this Callsun panel really stood out was during partial shade and cloudy conditions. It continued generating usable power while my older panel output dropped significantly. The bifacial feature also seems to help when parked near concrete or reflective surfaces. Build quality looks excellent and the panel feels durable enough for long-term outdoor use.

Better than my older 200W panel

I replaced an older flexible panel on my boat with this Callsun 215W bifacial model and the difference has been noticeable. Charging starts earlier in the day and continues longer into the evening. I was skeptical about the anti-shading design at first, but after testing it with ropes and shadows across the panel, it definitely continues producing more power than traditional panels I own. Weight is reasonable for the size and mounting was easy using standard brackets. Packaging was secure and customer service answered my wiring question quickly. Very satisfied so far.

Solid output and feels premium

These are among the best built panels I’ve received. The aluminum frame feels rigid, the junction box design is cleaner than expected, and the panel output was close to rated wattage during peak sun. I mounted this on a portable rack near my shed and even with occasional shadow from nearby trees, the output drop wasn’t nearly as dramatic as my standard monocrystalline panels. I’m also seeing decent bifacial gain when the panel is positioned over light gravel. So far I’m very happy with the purchase.

Great panel for RV and weekend camping

I bought this panel for my travel trailer setup and paired it with a 40A MPPT controller and a 100Ah LiFePO4 battery. Installation was pretty straightforward and the panel arrived very well packaged with no cracks or damage. During sunny afternoons in Arizona I was consistently seeing excellent charging performance. What stood out most was early morning and late evening production compared to my older P-type panel. The N-Type cells definitely seem to help in lower light conditions. I also like that the panel isn’t oversized for 12V systems. Overall this has been one of the better solar purchases I’ve made recently.

Surprisingly good performance under partial shade

I installed two of these 215W panels on top of my camper van and honestly didn’t expect them to perform this well. One side of my parking spot gets shade from trees during the afternoon, and my old panels would basically stop producing useful power. These Callsun panels kept charging steadily even when part of the panel was covered by branches and leaves. I tested them with my Victron controller and was still getting usable current while partially shaded. Build quality also feels solid with thick glass and sturdy frame. Definitely impressed for the price point and already considering ordering two more for my off-grid setup.

No instructions, needs cable & adapter

The panel looks like good quality but no instructions included and I see no way to connect to a power station even though I have multiple extra connectors. If someone can tell me how to connect it I will give a a better review.

My future's so bright i have to wear a hat and long sleeves

Works well. I've seen a max input of around 190 in full springtime sun in Florida so i expext it will really crank in the summer time. Will probably purchase another if I spot a sale.

They are working fine in a partially shaded yard

We purchased the panels on sale, so definitely worth the price. Thank goodness they are light weight for my spouse and I to unpack and assemble. Well thus far, the 10 panels are in a partial shaded area of our backyard leaning against a fence (in a retaining wall for stability). We are getting a power output of about 1200W for a few hours a day in Southern California, which isn’t too bad under the circumstances. They are functioning fine for now. We want to move them around, but too much for us to be going back and forth at our age. Hopefully, we will find someone to install on the roof or pergola in the near future.

On average, we use about 700-1000W of electricity an hour to run our home this time of the year. The extra wattage will help reduce our monthly SCE bill and also will supplement the power station and/or generator if there is an unexpected power outage or rolling blackouts in our area.
