FAQ

1. How does the 16BB (Busbar) technology improve performance?

The 16BB technology boosts solar panel efficiency and reliability by minimizing energy loss during transmission. More busbars improve conduction, leading to higher power output and better performance, especially in high temperatures.

2. What advantages does an N-type solar panel have over a P-type solar panel?

N-type solar panels offer higher efficiency, better performance in high temperatures and low light, greater resistance to light-induced degradation (LID), and a longer lifespan, making them more reliable and durable over time.

3. Can this panel be used with different solar generators or battery systems?

Yes, the 50W N-type 16BB solar panel is compatible with most popular solar generators and battery systems. It comes equipped with standard solar extension connectors, making it easy to integrate with a wide range of solar power setups.

4. What is the meaning of 12V in the product title,Why is this value different from the voltage of the solar panel?

When you open the product page, you will see a title like "xxx Watt 12 Volt Solar Panel". The "12V" here does not refer to the voltage of this solar panel (VOC or VMP), but to the fact that one xxxW solar panel is suitable for 12V system.

Reliably high output, can exceed rated in ideal conditions

I am a solar fanatic and have MANY panels of all sorts and sizes, and these are a new favorite. Between the N-type solar cells and the 16BB on these small, lightweight panels, they consistently produce more than rated in optimal conditions (angle, temp, clear sky), but even when partially shaded by either clouds or trees, they put out far more than any others. I bought four so I could wire them 2S2P if desired, and found a carry bag that will hold two of them (I use foam sheets to protect them) back to back. When I get around to it, I will make lightweight pvc stands for them, but for now I just lean them against my e-wagon I use to haul solar panels and power stations out to the yard. I highly recommend these panels!

Superior to big brands

I compared this side by side with a Renogy 50W. This one delivers 60W consistently while the other lags behind.

Exceptional in low light

Even with thin clouds and late evening sun, I’m getting a steady charge through my Victron MPPT.

California sun tested!

Verified here in SoCal. Hit 68 watts each with direct positioning. Absolutely awesome output for a 50W rated panel.

Massive power for its size

The 16BB tech is no joke. I’m getting 0.12 watts/sq. inch which is 20% better than my older Renogy setup.

Beyond the call of duty

Pretty cool seeing this max out at 72 Watts. Need I say more?

WOW! Panels that actually Exceed Expectations

Peaking out at 68 watts each with March Sun and direct positioning in California is awesome! It means that since most of us don't get to utilize solar trackers, we'll likely get rated capacity in 'normal' conditions. Only downside is you'll have to be aware of the 'capability' when sizing the rest of your components. The 0.12 watts/sq. inch is 10 to 30% better than other panels from names you are familiar with. That is AWESOME!

Great

Delivers 60w. Better then renogy 50w panel.
Compared both side by side.

10 year panel

Great panel. Was at 60 watts here in California. The inside surface a little rough being 3 d printed but a good panel for everyday use off the grid. Other folding

types are not for everyday use. The sun eats them Up . Easily transported, not like the 100 watts ones

Quality Product

Needed a couple of panels for 12v ventilation fans. They were inexpensive but seem to be high quality. When tested, they were generating 78 and 82 watts.

You Get More Than You Pay For

Needed a couple of panels for low wattage applications (running 12v ventilation fans). These were inexpensive, but seem to be of high quality.

And when tested upon receipt, they were generating 78 and 82 watts. So both panels well exceeded their 50 watt rating handily.

Hope they last, but all indications are that they are a quality product.

Highly recommend

Easily transported, not like the bulky 100 watt ones. I use them for my e-wagon to haul power stations out to the yard. Highly recommend these panels!

Awesome power output

This is the first solar panel I've ever bought that exceeds the power rating.I just hit 54W on a super sunny and clear day.Build quality is great also.

Surprising performance

77 watts steady 2 hours before sunset! I wasn't expecting that at such an oblique angle.

High performers

This is an early review as I just received these panels a couple days ago. I usually wait before reviewing so i can get a better idea of real world performance. However, these panels really perform well and I wanted to acknowledge that.

I had two 50 watt panels in series, facing due south, late evening. There were thin clouds, so it was bright but certainly the sunlight was being heavily filtered. Late evening, so the sun was far to the west, about 2 hours to sunset, at a very oblique angle. Very much less than ideal conditions for solar generation.

Despite the lack luster conditions, the series connected panels were able to charge my battery, via my Victron MPPT, at a steady 77 watts. Call that a safe 75% of their rating.

Pretty great output all things considered. Looking forward to more time playing with these apparently great panels. Time will tell.
